Temporary Survey Assistant 
Post: Survey Assistant with the River Dee Trust, based on Deeside (Aberdeenshire), who will assist with the research and monitoring programmes carried out by the Trust. This is a temporary position for 12 weeks from 1st July to 20th September 2019. 

The Survey Assistant is required primarily to assist in electrofishing surveys throughout the Dee and Don Districts.  This is an outdoor post and the post holder will be working within a small team, often in remote areas. Training will be provided, and the successful candidate will be required to attend an electrofishing training course on 5/6th June in Dumfries.  

Location: The Trust is based at the River Office at Dinnet, close to Aboyne in the heart of Aberdeenshire and the post holder would start work from here each day. Work will be undertaken throughout the catchment. 

This post is for 40 hours per week and the salary is equivalent to £260 per week. The post holder must be prepared to work flexible hours, as on some days longer working hours may be required. The Trust operates a time in-lieu system to manage working time. There is statutory holiday entitlement. 

You: An appreciation of the outdoor environment and a willingness to work outdoors, in water, on a daily basis is essential. The post holder should note that public transport to the River Office is insufficient to meet working requirements.
