Invasive Non-Native Species Update

July 27, 2020

Staff have treated giant hogweed and American skunk cabbage from below Banchory down towards the city around RGU campus. The Drumallan Burn, Sheeoch Burn and River Feugh have also been treated alongside several islands on the mainstem. The Carron Water by Stonehaven has also been treated to the confluence with the flood management works.

One mink was caught on the Dess Burn and signs of mink have been reported at Park, Tillbouries and potentially Ballater. Volunteers have not until very recently been able to monitor mink rafts due to Covid-19 restrictions.
