Will Boyd-Wallis

Will is the Senior Land Management Officer for the CNPA.  By representing CNPA on the Dee Fishery Board he hopes to provide a useful point of contact for riparian owners to ensure good dialogue over future issues of importance to the Dee.  He came to the Cairngorms after ten years of working across the Highlands and Islands for the John Muir Trust.  Firstly as Conservation Manager for Sandwood Estate and latterly as JMT’s Policy and Partnerships Manager.

Edward is the Chairman of the DSFIA and Director of FishDee Limited since 2003. Gavin Clark

Scottish Natural Heritage representative

Gavin Clark is the representative for Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH). SNH is a non-departmental public body and the government's advisor on nature conservation matters. The River Dee's status as a Special Area of Conservation under the Habitats Directive, with salmon, otter and freshwater pearl mussel all being recognised features, means that the Board has a key role in promoting sound management and SNH is pleased to be represented. Gavin is an Operations Manager with SNH's Tayside & Grampian Area.

Smolt Tracking Report Shows Interesting Results

October 11, 2016

The smolt tagging and tracking project is a three year programme of work. Fifty smolts, captured in the lower catchment, were fitted with internal acoustic tags and tracked in spring 2016. These smolts were tracked as they migrated through the lower 22 miles of the Dee and inner harbour.
