Glen Muick Fish Pass and Counter

October 16, 2020

We are delighted to announce that a new fish pass and vaki counter is now operational at the Falls Muick, replacing the older and less salmon friendly pass that was in place there. This new investment on the upper Dee catchment is thanks to Balmoral Estate which installed both the pass and counter.

The pass was installed earlier this year and the vaki counter has been running since June and we have recorded thirteen salmon and forty-three sea trout have gone through the counter, (as of early October) and we expect a few more will make the ascent as we near spawning time.
